Healing with Horses

Healing with Horses 3 day Workshop
699.00

This will be my only 3 day workshop in 2017! Come spend time with the horses and I and discover some of the key elements of how I have been healing myself naturally in my cancer journey. (Note: This is not a 'how to heal cancer naturally workshop' but how to orient your mind and body to heal in the most efficient and joyful way possible with whatever mental or physical ailment you are challenged with. Everyone is welcome to this workshop!)

We all are on a healing journey whether it be from an emotional or physical ailment.  These are powerful times we're living in and the key to finding balance lies in our ability to be present to our own personal healing journey. All of us have the innate ability to heal ourselves of whatever malady comes our way and horses can be wonderful assistants in the process of healing. Time with the horses offers an immense opportunity to dive into a deeper level of personal transformation.

Tara was diagnosed in September, 2016 with Stage 3 Breast Cancer. She decided to take an unconventional route to heal her cancer and decided to decline the standard route of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation. She is now successfully healing her cancer through natural means. Tara credits her four horses as part of the reason she is thriving through her cancer journey as horses offer tremendous healing potential.

Our bodies store our emotions, whatever is not released in a healthy manner becomes stuck, which can eventually turn into dis-ease. There are so many tools for healing and the horses are powerful allies to help us tune into the messages our bodies have to share.

The proper use of boundaries, the messages behind emotions and the dramatic impact stress has upon our bodies and minds are some of the concepts you will be introduced to, along with nurturing, safe time with the horses.

Join Tara and her gorgeous horses for this three workshop to taste the brilliant essence of the transformational quality of being with the horses.

To learn more about Tara's healing journey please go to her blog Cancer Warrioress and her Cancer Warrioress Facebook page : Facebook

Grief Ritual with Horses

Grief Ritual with Horses

"Grief is a form of generosity, which praises life and the people and the situations which we have lost. Grief that praises life shows the depth of our appreciation for having been given life enough to begin with, to experience both love and loss and that with all the mistreatment we humans give to the earth, we still have this amazing unlikely opportunity to actually speak and bathe in the Divine." - Martin Prechtel

Grief rituals are a way to give a voice to the sorrows that might be held within whether it may be losing a beloved friend, partner, relationship, family member, career or grieving the reality of our current environmental and social world.

If we allow our tears to flow freely than our laughter is that much more liberated to be shared... Without expressing the emotions locked within we can easily fall into numbness which is equal to not living a full and meaningful life.. And it is in allowing ourselves to feel the depths of our true experience we give ourselves permission to come alive once more...

Tara has gone through an extensive journey with grief in the last two years with being one of the main caretakers for her best friend of 19 years while she had Leukemia and sadly passed in August of 2015. To read the full story please click this link. It is through this experience she realized how vitally important it is to allow one's grief to be expressed. She has created a grief ritual combined with her equine assisted learning (EFL) and coaching tools with the horses  to hold safe space for others grief to emerge, release  and heal.

In this grief ritual journey you will experience expressive art therapy, time with the horses for self contemplation, do a release exercise with the horses, learn tools to understand and be with your grief and an active group grief ritual to memorialize and release your grief.

Here's what a past grief ritual participant had to say:

"Being witnessed in releasing grief was much more powerful than doing it alone. Tara held a safe container and being with the horses was lovely!" -Samantha Russell

This event will be both inside and outside. If the weather is unpredictable the outside activities will be orientated and timed to work in accordance with the weather...

*Space is limited, please register to reserve your space. After registration is completed you will receive a confirmation email with further information.*

Clothing: Please wear closed toe shoes/boots and outdoor wear (layers!)

Embracing Our Shadow - Reclaiming Our Light

Embracing Our Shadow - Reclaiming Our Light

Embracing Our Shadow - Reclaiming Our Light
700.00

Embracing the shadow self requires forgiveness and acceptance. The shadow is a part or parts of ourselves that we do not wish to own, for example, a jealous or judgmental part. The shadow is the part of ourselves that we despise the most in others. Owning these shadow parts and offering them compassion is of utmost importance and is key to the development of our Authentic self.

To truly embrace our shadow means to dare to look at elements of ourselves which we might have relegated to the back corner of our consciousness from the age of a young child. When we give ourselves the permission to acknowledge and accept our so called weaknesses we  discover that those qualities may prove to be important, hidden strengths.

Through participating in guided exercises with horses we are able to access layers of our shadow in a profound and healing manner. Tara has led several women's groups through the process of shadow work. She finds great satisfaction in helping others dive into the inner realms of what will truly liberate us to own and embrace our own light. It is only through embracing our darkness that we can claim our full beauty and magnificence..

In this workshop you will learn to:

  • Use emotion as information
  • Accessing a more authentic, creative presence

Moving Through Sacred Space

Moving Through Sacred Space

Moving Through Sacred Space
700.00

Movement is the essence of life. How can we stay present within our body, mind and spirit as we move through our everyday lives? Through connecting with the horses they help inspire us to fully embody the present moment as horses teach us to live in the now of what is.

Through Eponaquest  inspired activities we will invite our bodies to join with our breath, our emotions and our experiences in collaboration with the horses. We will be exploring elements of mindfulness, claiming the sacred in everything surrounding us at every moment and finding it in ourselves.. It is through being fully present with our bodies and all the messages they have to share with us we can truly connect to the divine.

We chose to bring elements of movement in with the horses as horses are such powerful teachers of embodied awareness. With our mind, bodies and spirits fully awake and alive we can truly manifest the full lives we wish to lead!

No elaborate dancing moves will be done here and no dancing/movement experience is necessary to participate in this workshop. We define movement as moving our bodies through space. Even moving your arm in a single pattern can be ‘movement’.

In this workshop you will learn about setting appropriate boundaries, authentic/false work, learning the messages behind emotions & learning to tune into the inner wisdom in your body.

Tara has 25 years of somatic  experience and has been a dancer all of her life and a Pilates, Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis, and Yamuna Body Rolling instructor for 11 years. She believes that for us to fully embody our true selves, the body must be present along with the brain. She is inspired to blend the horse exercises she has been taught with her movement experience.

  • This is a three day workshop from August 12-14 from 9-4 each day.
  • No horse experience is necessary. There will be no mounted activities in this workshop.
  • Please wear closed toe shoes/boots

$700

*Early bird price - $600 before 7/1/16

Awakening Your Authentic Self through the Wisdom of the Horse

Awakening Your Authentic Self through the Wisdom of the Horse

Awakening Your Authentic Self through the Wisdom of the Horse
700.00

Discover the profound experience of the human-horse connection in this introductory workshop. Your Authentic Self is the you that is found at your absolute core. It is the composite of all of your skills, talent and wisdom. It is all of the things that are uniquely yours and need expression, rather than what you believe you are supposed to be and do. Let our equine guides gently help you to activate your Authentic Self.

*Learn how to access your Authentic Self
*How to establish healthier relationships
*Live in the present moment
*Improve your communication
*Minimize stress and feel more peaceful

Engaging in 'Authentic Self ' work allows one to understand what is truly one's truth and to separate that inner voice from the 'False or Conditioned Self' that is taught to us at a young age with societal and family belief systems. The result is an inner liberation to come to the core of one's own truth. Being able to touch into one's own Authentic Self helps to facilitate a fully embodied life, within relationships, career, friendships and in every avenue of our lives.. Combining this work with the horses is vastly powerful as we naturally are called into our Authentic Self when around them. Horses help midwife the process in the transformation of awakening our most ultimate, awake and alive selves!

Clothing: Please wear closed toe shoes/boots and outdoor wear
Horse experience: Not required and there are no mounted activities

Cost: $700

Riding into The Unknown - Embracing Change

We are living during a powerful time of epic change and transformation. How do we maintain a sense of balance when the turbulent waves of life shake our very foundation?  Finding the courage to navigate these changes and keep our true sense of purpose while moving forward is essential to steering ourselves in the right direction.

I am inspired to offer this workshop as I see all around me people questioning the trajectory of their life and who are choosing to make bold changes to transform their lives. Four  years ago I lived in the suburbs, was married with a successful Pilates studio and then decided to give it all up to follow my heart's calling of helping people heal with horses. These crossroads in life are terrifying yet our key to growth  lies in trusting what our true destiny is.

With the horses as our guides we will peel away our societal conditioned beliefs to uncover our true authentic selves. Diving into this process will help liberate our limited beliefs and perceptions of ourselves in order to propel our life path forward to pursue our heart's desire and live a more fulfilled life.

Horse Medicine: Reclaiming Our Vitality Through the Path of the Horse

Horses offer us humans a profound gift. While simultaneously being grand symbols of strength and beauty, they also have an uncanny ability to mirror elements of ourselves not yet revealed to us. Horses inspire us while also reflecting back our unspoken dreams and emotional components of ourselves we may be suppressing. They give us the possibility to grow beyond our limited viewpoint of who we think we are.

Horse medicine offers us the opportunity to come back to a sense of wholeness with ourselves again. Through Eponaquest exercises based on the work of Linda Kohanov we will journey through the sacred landscape of the soul with the help of the horses to arrive back to our authentic truth once again.

This is a perfect workshop to do at the beginning of spring time when we are shedding away the layers of winter time to emerge into our transformed selves.

There will be a shamanic journey, powerful exercises with the horses, expressive art therapy, information about the emotional message chart, boundaries and other effective tools to help gain self insight and clarity within one's self.

This workshop will be offered twice in 2016:

  • Friday, March 11 to Monday, March 13

Grief Ritual with Horses

Grief Ritual with Horses
199.00

  • Recognizing and moving beyond conditioned behaviors and thought patterns
  • Setting Boundaries: establishing and maintaining clear and consistent personal space
  • Body Scan: using the body as a sensing device
  • Hands-on activities with horses as guides
  • Developing essential skills for building Authentic Community

Clothing: Please wear closed toe shoes/boots and outdoor wear

She is the owner of Wind Horse Sanctuary, a 10 acre horse property which hosts private sessions and workshops with horse guided exercises. Horses have a powerful manner to guide us down the pathway of self-attunement and awareness. While in challenging situations, horses can help us find the true balance needed to bring equilibrium into our lives. She has also trained in extensive shadow work, leading women's groups through embracing and learning to love their own shadow self.
